No flavourings or colours are used in the production of Basilicolio. Its intense aroma and flavour come exclusively from fresh basil, which is pressed together with the olives. In Italy, we personally inspect the quality of every batch of basil to bring you a product that smells like a freshly picked leaf of this queen of Italian herbs.

Tip for pasta with tomato sauce

Ingredients: one small onion, one garlic clove, fresh vine tomatoes, fresh basil, salt, pepper, Tradizionale olive oil and basil olive oil.

Method: Finely chop the onion and garlic and gently sauté them in a pan with Tradizionale olive oil. Add the halved tomatoes, fresh basil, salt and pepper, and simmer briefly. Meanwhile, bring a pot of salted water to the boil and cook pasta such as spaghetti or penne. Add a few teaspoons of pasta water to the tomatoes to create a light sauce. Drain the pasta when al dente, add it to the pan and toss everything together over a low heat. Serve and generously drizzle with basil olive oil. Buon appetito!
